セイラム達の幸せは長くは続きませんでした。
野良猫であるセイラム一家は人間に捕獲されてしまったのです。
Their peaceful life hadn't lasted long time.
The stray cats were captured by man.

お母さん猫と子供達は引き離されました。
And also the kittens and their mother were separated.

仔猫達は猫の保護施設「猫カフェ」へ連れて行かれたのです。
そこには他にもたくさんの猫達が住んでいました。
Only kittens were brought to the protection facility, Cat cafe.
There were many stray cats living there.

カフェの中で弱虫のセイラムは泣きました。
『お母さん！お母さーん！ 怖いよ。たすけてよぅ！』
Salem cried with fear in the cafe.
"Mom, Mom! I'm scared. Help me!"

『お黙りなさい！セイラム！！』
そう言ったのは、1番年下で身体の小さな妹、サブリナでした。
"Zip your lips! Salem!"
Said the little youngest sister, Sabrina.

『母さんが言ってた事、忘れたの？ 強く生きるのよ！あたしは母さんとの約束を守る』
"Don't you remember what our mom said to us? Be strong! I do keep our promise."

セイラムはサブリナの言葉でかろうじて泣くのを我慢しました。
『サブリナ、僕たち・・これからどうなるの？』
Her words made barely stop his sobbing.
"Oh,Sabrina, How's it going to be?"

サブリナは言い放ちました。
『人間と一緒に暮らすのよ。人間のペットになるの。』
"We will live with human beings as a pet. That's all."
She swore that.

セイラムは驚きました。
『嫌だよ。僕達家族をバラバラにしたのは人間なのに、そんな人達と仲良くするの？ 僕はゴメンだ！サブリナはそれでも平気なの？』
He was surprised.
"NO! Why should we do? They caused our family broke up. How can you keep cool in such an insult?"


サブリナは少しの間、顔をしかめましたが、
直ぐに答えました。
『仕方ないでしょう。私は生きるわ。』
She frowned a moment, but soon she answered.
"That's life. I will be alive."

猫カフェには毎日知らない人間がやって来ました。
Every day, strangers visited the cafe.

セイラムは他の猫には無い、綺麗で長いふわふわなシッポを持っていましたので、たくさんの人達から「可愛いい」と言われました。
Many people said "cute" to Salem because he was the only cat that had a long beautiful fluffy tail.

ですがセイラムは、やはり人間は信用する事が出来ません。
But he couldn't trust them, yet.

触られたり、抱き上げられたりもしましたが、セイラムは我慢しました。爪も決して出したりしませんでした。
例え誰であろうと「傷つけたくない」気持ちは変わらなかったからです。
Even though that people patted him and held him, Salem never hurt them with his nails. He had patience.

『お母さん、ごめんなさい。やっぱり僕は強くなれない。』
セイラムはいつも、心を痛めていました。
"I'm sorry, Mom. I won't be strong."
He always hurt his mind.

そんなある日、青い衣をまとった女の人が猫カフェにやって来ました。
One day, a woman, wearing a blue dress, came to the cafe.

その人は人間ではありませんでした。
The woman actually wasn't a person.

東から来た魔女だったのです。
She was the witch of the east.
